OSD- this stands for On Screen display and it is a Heads up  display that is overlayed onto the video feed of FPV aircraft.  OSDs come in a variety of flavors but the most popular ones are open source Minimosd varieties that run the popular MWOSD software.

An on-screen display (abbreviated OSD) is an image superimposed on a screen picture, commonly used in FPV to display information such as battery voltage, direction to home, altitude, airspeed and other information relevant to First Person View.

Hardware wise, an onscreen display is essentially a device that you put in between your video feed between your camera and your video transmitter that overlays the information onto the screen.
