Lithium Polymer batteries are the preferred power sources for quadcopters today  They offer high discharge rates and a high energy storage/weight ratio.  It is important to use and charge them correctly. There are many things to consider before using lithium batteries with your models.  But none is more important than safety.  Lithium batteries are fully charged when each cell has a voltage of 4.2 volts. They are fully discharged when each cell has a voltage of 3.0 volts. It is important not to exceed both the high voltage of 4.2 volts and the low voltage of 3.0 volts. Exceeding these limits can harm the battery. More information on batteries can be found here.
