There is a lot of hype about these motors- We can now confirm that they are the bomb. Skitzo is a Quadquestions favorite because he flies beautifully and he does it on mostly normal hardware.  On top of that he is one of the very top pilots in the sport..  The last the last time that we spoke he was using a Naze32, cleanflight, qav210,etc. proving that there is a lot of hype about the latest software tricks, but that it really takes skills, and reliable, well engineered hardware, not software, to fly like superman.

Now that he has designed his own motors in collaboration with Lumenier, the sky is the limit.  This guy is smart, he is a top freestyle pilot who knows the shortcomings of other hardware first hand.  The result is an incredibly light and powerful, high- KV motor that falls outside of the normal form factor. No more set screws, no more bearing woes (due to the high quality steel bearings), and no more weight worries.   These are just great!  We can’t wait to see what this top pilot touches next~ certainly it will be spectacular.

This Lumenier RB2204-13 2500Kv motor has been engineered from the ground up, and it is the perfect blend of elegant design and high end performance. By using high quality steel bearings and CNC precision machined parts, each Lumenier motor provides silky smooth, reliable power. The Kv and size of the motor has been carefully selected to be optimized for 5″ props on a 4s battery. This combination gives you an excellent burst of power to quickly elevate your aircraft above and around objects.

The Lumenier RB2204-13 2500Kv motors have a strong 3mm internal shaft which has been machine pressed into the upper bell of the motor. No longer is there a need for set screws that loosen over time. The motor features an integrated 5mm threaded prop adapter allowing you to directly mount the propeller to the motor without the need of a separate prop adapter, saving you weight. An ultra-lightweight, black anodized, low profile, flanged aluminum lock nut is also included with each motor ensuring your propellers do not come loose during flight. Each motor comes with 4x M3x5 screws for mounting on most airframes. The motor wire length is 100mm and includes pre-soldered male 2mm bullet connectors for easy installation. Alternatively, you can also simply cut the motor wires to the desired length and directly solder them to your ESC. With the motor wires cut to a short length (bullets removed) the motor only weighs an incredible 21.5g!
